Heating the house

I want to talk a bit about home heating.  I'm not an expert, but I've done a little research into it, and thought it would be good to share what I've learned.  I have a similar post about home cooling here.

We had a little snow storm...

It wasn't all that long ago that we experienced an epic wind-storm that knocked out power at our house for three days.  A few families went an entire week without electrical power, and a handful of people were without power clear through Thanksgiving.  If that were me, I wouldn't be feeling very thankful at all :)

So we had a little windstorm...

On November 17th a windstorm blew across Washington, Northern Idaho, and Montana.  Central Washington lost power lines due to high winds snapping power poles.  The rest of the region lost power lines due to trees falling on them.

The trees were hard on other things, like dwellings, vehicles, and pedestrians :(
