"Be tolerant of others and strict with yourself." - Marcus Aurelius
Our daughter is about to begin attending in-person classes at college soon. She had made up a list of car problems that needed to be corrected before it would be safe to routinely drive to school throughout winter. Years ago, she *had* to have an old Mercedes SUV that experienced several issues over time, here, here, and here. I also did some work that didn't merit blog posts. That vehicle had been highly problematic, just like the S600 has.
Here is her most recent list of concerns:
Problems all solved...
She got a cute little Ford Escape, just a handful of years old, and with 20k miles (32k KM) on the odometer. If she doesn't crash it, she should be good to go for a decade.
Interestingly enough, we pulled the vintage Mercedes ML320 out of the garage overnight to make room for the new vehicle. When it was time for the dealership to come get the vehicle, it refused to start. It would start and run for a few seconds, then shut down again.
I was trying to get the old car warmed for the guy showed up from the dealership, but it simply would not stay running. It was very frustrating. I busted out the big dumb battery charger because the battery was dying from all the start attempts. In the end it started just as the guy pulled up to the house to retrieve the trade-in vehicle, LOL.
A final bit of drama before getting rid of that boat anchor.
