"I'm not dead yet"

"The mirror is a worthless invention.  The only way to see yourself is through another's eyes." - Voltaire

Sorry for the dearth of blogging, dear readers.  The day shift gig has left not as much time as I'd prefer to develop thoughtful posts about things that I find interesting - or even to just post about stuff that I'm doing.

I haven't been doing much at all - at home it's just maintenance chores, which are too boring to even take pictures of.  I suppose I could make a post about hauling trash to the transfer station. LOL.

At work, most days are a whirlwind of taking care of loose ends and endless meetings :(  Things are about to change though.  On Good Friday, I will start a 2 month long generator rewind outage.  Ambient temperature permitting, we will perform a gas turbine water wash.

Following that, one of the generators will be rapidly taken apart to send the rotor off to Schenectady, NY for crack inspection, refurbishment, high speed balancing and electrical testing.  Then it will be shipped back.  That one item is driving the 2 month length of the outage.  In any event, I'll try to get a lot of pictures and put them up here.  Blah.  It will pay well, but that's two months of springtime gone...

The kid is just about to turn 21, which here in the US is full legal adulthood.  We will celebrate that with a quick trip to a casino and a nice dinner somewhere else.

There's a lot going on in the world that I would love to comment on - like Europe attempting to follow Ukraine into ruin vs. Russia.   Or the horrific situation in the middle east.  Or the warlike noises issued by the US, with a generation of obese youth who have been fed a diet of Frankenfood, unfit to fight.  If the global situation wasn't so serious, the US demands on it would be comical.

Anyway, more to come soon!  Peace.  And on Earth, Goodwill toward men.  From me at least.
