"Conquer yourself, rather than the world." - Rene Descartes
Apologies for the lack of recent posts. The facility that I work at is undergoing a second very major outage in as many years, and that has kept my focus the past couple of months. Attention to other things, including family and chores - and yes, blogging - has taken a back seat.
I had this past weekend completely off and skipped church. It was nice to recover a bit! Whilst I was off I managed to take care of a few items, although it was much too rainy to mow the lawn. I still haven't put out the wasp traps or swapped the tires on the old Subaru. Just been feeling beat down and out of sorts.
I finally got around to spending my Christmas Amazon gift card money. I always split it up with the wife and the daughter. So what sort of treasures are coming? Music mostly. As I've said before, if you don't own the media, you don't own the product - so I always get music on optical disks.
I've been dropping into a jazz coma for a bit now, and that's continuing, with a bit of old school country added in. Roy Clark was a bad-ass guitarist - even if he played country music - in case you were unaware.
CDs by Lee Rittenour, Wes Montgomery and Sea Level are also on order, but they have super long lead times.
Lastly I got these very cool (and inexpensive) color-coded metric and standard chrome-plated hex and torx key-sets. My daughter said that 'it's not Pride Month yet' when she saw them. Haha.
Update: More arriving! Lee Rittenour and Wes Montgomery
