Ballet

We went to see the Moscow Ballet perform the Nutcracker a few days ago over in Spokane.  It was pretty nice because we were 3 rows from the stage.  We were so close that we could see the performer's faces, something that I've never experienced in all the concerts and plays I've ever attended.

The sets were phenomenal, as were the costumes.  The dancing of course was impressive.  All photos courtesy of the Moscow Ballet.

The Nutcracker requires a lot of children to perform, and the ballet doesn't tour with children.  For the kid's parts, they recruit from local ballet schools.  It was neat, because local kids got to perform with a major ballet troupe and then got a standing ovation in front of a huge audience :)
