"When you are born you get a ticket to the freak show. When you're born in America, you get a front-row seat." - George Carlin
Yet again, someone failed to make it around the bend on our road, knocking out power. Just two weeks ago, the electric utility replaced a power pole that someone had sheared off at ground level when they ran off the road. Now there's this. Drivers here are getting worse and worse, as the place fills up with people leaving metropolitan areas.
Tonight it seems the latest vehicle was going really fast when it left the road. Two 30-ish year old men ended up trapped in the wreckage of a burning car. Fortunately, one of my neighbors was able to force open each door and pull them out. They were in rough shape.
To shear off a live tree is pretty impressive. Unfortunately it fell towards our power lines. I'm just glad we've had enough rain recently that the fire didn't get out of hand. Power was restored within about 3 hours, and the occupants of the vehicle were transported by ambulance.
On a happier note, the rechargeable LED light I ordered from Amazon showed up, and I was able to test it out on the decorative wooden cow skull. This will definitely do. Not the ordinary office decor for me, no sir!
