"Forces beyond your control can take away everything except you possess except one thing - your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation." - Viktor Frankl
I charged up the radiation detector yesterday:
There's a reason for that. The US is augmenting its military forces already based in the middle east, and the rhetoric for war is off the scale.
We are talking about nuclear-armed nations (US and Israel) attacking a nation without nuclear arms (Iran).
One suspects that other national leaders took note of what happened to the leaders of Libya and Iraq, which gave up on their nuclear programs. Those nations were treated far worse than Kim Jong Un in North Korea, who went forward with his nuclear weapon program. Nobody is invading that country, are they?
I also took time to locate the Potassium Iodide tablets and have them near at hand.
I really hope not to have to use these items, but one never knows... Here in North Idaho, we are downwind from Fairchild Air Force Base, so if there is a large-scale nuclear exchange, I'd expect it to get flattened, and we would eat these pills while the fallout drifted over and hang out in the basement for a week or so while the short and medium half-life junk decayed away.
It would be better if cooler heads prevailed, but it's not clear if anyone in charge has a cool head!
