I lived in Ridgecrest, California for about 10 years. It was a pretty neat little town; isolated from most of the troubles of large California cities by large areas of the Mojave desert. The air was clean by California standards, crime was low, and the schools were pretty good. People there were kind-hearted and generous.
It's been tough to watch the news lately. The town has been hard-hit by two large earthquakes, and by numerous smaller after-shocks. It makes me sad, because a lot of genuinely nice and hard-working people are suffering. It's no help that the temperatures are probably quite high right now.
Ridgecrest is bottom and center in this photo.
Prayers for all...
