Don't say you weren't warned...

"So you must match time's swiftness with your speed in using it, and you must drink quickly as though from a rapid stream that will not always flow." - Lucius Annaeus Seneca

A couple of months back I did a post about the "wheels falling off".  I've since found a number of articles that agree with the thesis of a global fertilizer shortage.  I've found other articles that discuss (without ever mentioning heavy crude oil) the diesel fuel shortage.

I just found an article that discusses the effect of fuel prices on food production, and the lack of diesel fuel on the east coast of the US.  They even mention the impact of "just in time" supply chain issues - a pet peeve of mine.

The lack of forward-planning and lack of concern from governments around the globe is alarming.

On the bright side, at $6.50 per gallon, these fuel-wasters look even more ridiculous than they normally do.

If you have ever had a hankering for a fuel-wasting land barge, but don't need to use it as a daily driver, your chance to own one cheap may be arriving shortly.  It's possible that a 2001 Prius with a dead storage battery will be more desirable than one of these rigs before very long.
