"A guide, on finding a man who has lost his way, brings him back to the right path - he does not mock and jeer at him and then take himself off. You must also show the unlearned man the truth, and you will see that he will follow. But so long as you do not show it to him, you should not mock, but rather feel your own incapacity." - Epictetus
Today's stoic quote is for me. I am often guilty of directing sarcasm towards people who see only the surface of things. So this is to make up for that - to "show the unlearned man the truth". Let's go.
Below are the 10 principles of WAR PROPAGANDA. How many of these techniques are being used on you every time you turn on the TV or open your internet browser?
My bullshit filter has been set to opaque since oh... about the run-up to the Iraq War. These people have squandered their credibility over and over.
Below: Not anthrax. Definitely not a reason to pre-emptively invade another country.
The only thing that I believe right now is that there is a conflict going on. Beyond that, my assumption is that anything the media tells us is a lie. This is a lie. This is a lie. This article is so twisted that it might as well be a lie. It's difficult to tell whether the news media is blindly repeating War propaganda without verifying its accuracy, or whether they are complicit, and intentionally spreading propaganda. It doesn't really matter which, because you can no longer trust them as a source of information.
