"We are mad, not only individually but nationally. We punish manslaughter and isolated murders, but what of war and the much-vaunted crime of slaughtering whole peoples?" - Lucius Annaeus Seneca
It's just a song, but it's a really good one.
This is a cover of a classic, nearly 100 year-old American folk song. Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Booker T, Janis Joplin and the White Stripes have covered this song. I prefer this version to all of them.
The lyrics are awesome, and the guitar and keyboards are really sweet. Take a listen - take your time and listen to it all. "St. James Infirmary Blues" covered by James Solberg
Which reminds me (since this is a post about a very old song), to mention a couple of really great Woodie Guthrie songs that most people don't know about anymore. "Dying Miner"
"Worried Man Blues"
